[Over the Comms]
Bryn: Hey Haine?
Haine: Yeah?
Bryn: I know you don't wanna see a lot of me right now but uhm....I was hoping I could ask you a favor if you're not busy...?
Haine: I'm not. Why?
Bryn: Ah...my brother is here. On board.
Haine: I see... I guess I'll take referee job?
Bryn: I don't want to see him alone and...yeah, I think I'll need you to be ready to hold me back.
Bryn: ...I don't intend to hurt him but well.......I don't know how I'm going to be when I see him and I don't know of anyone else who'd be able to keep me in line, even in my other form.
Haine: Yeah. I understand. Where are you meeting him?
Bryn: Haven't decided yet. You have a recommendation?
Haine: A private room or public room?
Bryn: I don't know...does it matter?
Haine: Maybe. Depends if you want people to see this or not.
Bryn: Oh...ah...private then.
Haine: Who's room?
Bryn: I don't want him in my room...he doesn't have one.....any secluded public area would be okay too I guess.
Haine: You can use my room.
Bryn: Thank you ah...I'll call him on my way. You're sure this is okay?
Haine: Yeah.
Bryn: It's entirely possible I'm going to be kinda....emotional.
Haine: Its fine.
Bryn: Thank you...I'm coming now.
Haine: I'll be waiting.
[Log]
Bryn: *five minutes later, there's a quiet knock at Haine's door*
Haine: *The albino opens the door.*
Bryn: Hey...*small smile*
Haine: Hi. *Steps back.*
Bryn: *steps in and rubs her upper arm with one hand* thank you again....
Haine: *Nods and let's her in.*
Bryn: *sighs* I didn't call him yet.
Haine: Well, you can now.
Bryn: ...is it cowardly that I don't want to?
Haine: No.
Bryn: *sits at the foot of the bed and leans her head in her hands, sighs again*
Haine: I don't blame you... I would be avoiding my siblings too.
Bryn: You have Lily...
Haine: Yeah but there's others.
Bryn: *flops back on the bed and curls up* there's just Gun but...you know what happened, yeah?
Haine: Not exactly.
Bryn: One day I was human, the next I was shifted, and waking up in the pool house...nine months my parents brought and took away trays of food and...I didn't see my brother. Not really.
Bryn: I knew he knew I was there and he didn't do anything. Didn't call the police, didn't tell neighbors, or teachers....nothing.
Bryn: I hated him. Hated him for letting our parents get away with it. For not standing up to them for what they did to me...
Bryn: He...he said today that he bargained with them. That they were going to send me to labs or some shit and abandon me there instead of keep me at home.
Bryn: They kept me home as long as he had nothing to do with me...as long as he didn't tell.
Bryn: When they planned to kill me off the deal was broken. I see now that's what changed...
Bryn: He helped me escape but...that was it. He left me in that damned house for nine months....
Bryn: Didn't tell anyone. Let them treat me like shit. It was me and a room. No bed, no blankets...not even a pillow.
Bryn: Treated like an animal and he just sat there and did nothing...
Bryn: And now he wants my forgiveness.
Bryn: well he said he didn't
Bryn: *exasperated sound* I hate him.
Haine: *Hands over the cougar body pillow.* I guess I understand why.
Bryn: Understand what? *takes the body pillow and curls up with it on the bed*
Haine: That... but with Giovanni....
Bryn: That? You understand him or you understand me?
Haine: You.
Bryn: *nods a bit and curls up tighter to the pillow*
Haine: Giovanni acts the same way.
Bryn: How so...?
Haine: I left them all for dead.
Bryn: .......
Haine: Yeah. *He leaned against the wall.*
Bryn: I don't understand exactly.....what does Giovanni do? *She was distracted...this was good, Haine...keep talking...*
Haine: Right now, he's trying to take me back home. That hag isn't dead either.
Bryn: *eyes open wide, she turns her head, still clinging to the pillow* they're here? ...
Haine: No. Just multiple Badou's and Bishop...
Bryn: *visibly relaxes* oh....oh lord multiple Badou's? wait, and Bishop?
Haine: Yeah and two other me's.
Bryn: Oh...right...them.
Bryn: *sigh* It's hard to even think of seeing Gun.
Haine: If you get out of line, I can hold you back.
Bryn: It's more than that.
Bryn: I don't know. *exhales*
Bryn: should just treat it like a band-aid, rip it off, get it over with...
Haine: Yeah.
Bryn: *she pulls her comm out of her pocket and sighs, flicking it on* Gun, y'there? *there's a reply, and she gives him Haine's floor and room number* I'll be there if you want to see me.
Haine: *Keeps silent.*
Bryn: *gives a small shuddering exhale and sighs* There it's done.
Haine: Yeah.
Haine: It'll be good to let him know.
Gun: *frowning, knocks on the door Bryn told him about*
Haine: *Gets up to answer it.*
Gun: *looked surprised to see anyone other than Bryn* Ah, sorry. Wrong door I guess...*blinks, starts looking up and down the hallway for similar numbered doors*
Haine: No. Bryn is waiting for you.
Gun: Oh? *peers inside the room* Then I guess you already know who I am. Gunnar Dottir. *he holds out his hand to shake*
Haine: Yeah. *He doesn't take the handshake but backs in to his room.*
Gun: *he looks a little awkward as Haine doesn't take his hand...steps into the room and sees Bryn on the bed. Gun swallows nervously and clears his throat* Ah...Bryn?
Bryn: *She turns her head toward her brother and rolls over, leaving the cougar body pillow behind, and takes a long look at her brother. He really was older...a lot older. Older than her..*
Gun: *with a sharp intake of breath, Gun studied the sister he hadn't seen in years. She looked different. Leaner, harder, and still somehow more alive...and instead of a politely interested look on her face as he was used to, he saw her face go from blank, to tense, and the beginnings of fury*
Bryn: *With a snarl she lunged toward Gun and punched him in the face* You spineless cretin! *she hissed between her teeth, strangely pleased he didn't cower or defend himself, but stood there and took it*
Haine: *He pulled her away from him."
Bryn: *she struggled against Haine's hands, still trying to get another one in...adrenaline surged in her veins* Just...one more...
Gun: *his hand had gone to his face the minute Haine grabbed hold of his sister. Where in the hell had she learned to punch like that?* You can let her go, I deserved thi--Ah, then again perhaps not that *he stares at Bryn*
Bryn: *has shifted her hands into paws, claws extended*
Haine: No.
Bryn: *she hissed again, eyes locked on Gun's face...familiar and yet not all at once, she jerks again...the rational side of her brain had drifted away and all she felt was rage and pain at seeing that traitor again*
Gun: Bryn I...I told you I'm sorry. I really am. I fucked up big time and I've been trying to find you to make up for it for the last ten years...I just.......god I'm glad to see you whole and in one piece.....
Haine: *He continued to hold on to Bryn.*
Bryn: *She jerked again, and then tried to kick at Gun, goddammit he was out of reach...she breathing heavily and stilled and leaned against Haine, still looking at her brother* you mother. fucking. coward.
Gun: *He flinched at each word, and stood there, holding his hand over his eye where she'd hit him* I know...I know...I told you I fucked up, Brynnie....I'm sorry....god I'm sorry....I know I didn't do enough...shouldn't have...*his throat tightened and he looked at her helplessly* I'm sorry Brynnie...
Bryn: *She let out a choked laugh* you lost the right to call me that years ago...
Haine: *He kept a firm hold, not saying anything.*
Bryn: *she sagged a bit more, shaking her head at Gun* I'm sure you are but I can't even look at you without feeling..just....so furious....I can't just get over what you didn't do....
Haine: *Blinks at her, making sure she doesn't fall.*
Bryn: *most of the fight seems to have gotten out of her and she shifts down to her knees, swallowing*
Gun: Perhaps I should...*he looks at the door, and then Haine* you...you'll take care of her?
Bryn: *she snorts on a laugh at that...neither would be quite sure if it's because of who Gun's asking, or that he even bothered to care that she was taken care of*
Haine: *Let's her go.* ...She's old enough to take care of herself.
Gun: *he stiffens at the comment and looks at Bryn...her hands had shifted back to normal but she didn't look stable enough to......* right. *it occurred to him that he didn't even know hold old she was right now. She didn't look old enough to be twenty-seven...*
Bryn: Go...run away again, Gunnar. You're good at that, yeah? *she looked up at him, scowling, and then ran a hand through her hair*
Haine: *He handed her the body pillow before moving away and leaned against the wall.*
Gun: *he watched Haine hand her the ridiculous looking cat pillow* If you want anything...if there's anything I do you'll know how to reach me, I expect...
Bryn: *she hugs the pillow to her chest and looks away from Gun* Go away.
Gun: ...right. *He nodded once to Haine, whose name he never got, and left*
Bryn: Hey Haine?
Haine: Yeah?
Bryn: I know you don't wanna see a lot of me right now but uhm....I was hoping I could ask you a favor if you're not busy...?
